1. It's co-written and directed by David Wain, who co-wrote and directed Role Models.
2. It's set on the last day of summer camp, on the first day of the third week in August and is about "High Times. Hard Bodies. Soft Rock".
3. It has a great ensemble cast.
4. It was one of Entertainment Weekly's Ten Best Movies of 2001.

Get Your Geek On

Geektastic characters from film and TV:
• The Geek aka Farmer Ted (Anthony Michael Hall) not only bagged the prom queen but also Samantha Baker’s (Molly Ringwald) underpants in Sixteen Candles. Anthony Michael Hall also played Brian Johnson in The Breakfast Club and Gary Wallace in Weird Science, making him the geek of choice in 80s teen films.
• Augie Farks (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) was a Live Action Role-Play loving geek in Role Models. Christopher Mintz-Plasse also played über-geek Fogell aka McLovin in Superbad.
• Willow Rosenberg (Alyson Hannigan) was a shy computer geek, turned powerful witch in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, later shedding her geeky persona (as well as Warren’s skin!) as Dark Willow. Alyson Hannigan also played band geek Michelle Flaherty in the American Pie films.
• Paul Pfeiffer (Josh Saviano) was Kevin Arnold's (Fred Savage) spectacle wearing, allergy suffering best friend in The Wonder Years. Internet rumours that Josh Saviano grew up to be shock rocker Marilyn Manson were (unfortunately) untrue.
Star Wars fan Sam Weir (John Francis Daley), "comic genius" Neal Schweiber (Samm Levine), and Dallas fanatic Bill Haverchuck (Martin Starr) were the socially challenged geeks of the title in Freaks and Geeks.
